Cherry Cola Wins Best Director at PopCon International Film Festival 2026

Cherry Colacontinued its festival journey with another exciting screening on May 10 at the 2026 PopCon International Film Festival in Indianapolis, Indiana.

This year, Cherry Cola was selected as one of 66 films out of 200 submissions, making its inclusion in the festival a meaningful milestone for the Dennis Films team. The screening marked another special moment for the film as it continues to connect with new audiences beyond Tennessee.

During the festival, Andrew Dennis received the award for Best Director, a major honor for the project and for Dennis Films. For Dennis, the award was not only a personal achievement, but also a reflection of the passionate and talented team behind Cherry Cola.

Dennis shared his gratitude for the cast and crew who helped bring the film to life, expressing how directing becomes even more meaningful when surrounded by people who believe in the vision. He credited the team’s trust, creativity, and dedication as a major part of what made the film possible.

Andrew Dennis and Allison Felty are both excited to see where Cherry Cola goes next as the film continues its festival run.

Outside of the screening, PopCon 2026 also gave the team the opportunity to make several exciting new connections, especially in the areas of costume design and props. One of the highlights of the weekend was meeting Sean Astin, known for his major roles in The Lord of the Rings and Stranger Things. For the team, it was a special moment to meet someone connected to films and shows that have served as major sources of inspiration in their own creative work.

With another meaningful screening and award now in the books, Cherry Cola continues to build momentum.

Another amazing screening is complete.

Onto the next.
