Cherry Cola Makes Its World Premiere in Cleveland

The short film Cherry Cola officially made its world premiere at the Short. Sweet. Film Fest on March 7th, debuting in the Drama and Horror block to an enthusiastic and engaged audience.

The screening marked a major milestone for Dennis Films, as filmmakers Andrew Dennis and Allison Felty were able to sit together and fully experience the film for the first time alongside a live audience. The moment proved to be emotional, as Cherry Cola has been one of the most personal, challenging, and transformative projects the team has ever created. Seeing it on the big screen felt like crossing a long-awaited finish line.

The audience response was overwhelmingly positive, culminating in Cherry Cola receiving the Audience Favorite award. The recognition reflected not only the film’s impact, but also the connection it formed with viewers in the room.

The trip to Ohio carried additional meaning for the team. With cast members including Matthew Dennis and Kathryn Paden in attendance, the experience extended beyond the screening itself. Time spent in Cleveland and nearby Lakewood allowed the group to connect with fellow filmmakers, celebrate independent storytelling, and build new relationships within a film community they have grown to deeply appreciate.

The festival also featured the premiere of another Dennis Films project, Blackout, which was kept under wraps prior to the event and went on to receive multiple awards. More details surrounding that project will be shared in the future.

The world premiere of Cherry Cola marked the beginning of its festival journey, setting the tone for what lies ahead. With strong audience support and meaningful connections already formed, the team looks forward to continuing to share the film with new audiences.
